The View

Dundee indie quartet the View burst onto the U.K. scene in 2006. The band's big break came when, after accosting Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty in the streets and busking some of their songs, they were invited to open a gig for the band in their native Dundee. Following a self-titled EP on the independent Two Thumbs label, the band were snapped up by the majors and set about recording their debut full-length. The first fruits of these sessions--the raucous, Libertines-inspired singles "Wasted Little DJs" and "Superstar Tradesmen"--both charted high in the U.K. The debut full-length, HATS OFF TO THE BUSKERS, rocketed straight to the top of the U.K. album charts in January 2007.
