P.O.D.

San Ysidro, California's P.O.D. ("Payable on Death") started working out their distinctive mix of heavy rock, punk, hip-hop, and reggae in the early 1990s, sharing stages with Green Day and other Calpunk luminaries. They were already a regional sensation when they made the jump to a major label in 1998. Though they'd been honing their sound for years, they made their national splash when other rap-metal outfits like Korn and Limp Bizkit were hitting it big. They toured with Kid Rock, the aforementioned Korn, and other peers, as their albums took the Billboard charts by storm. Despite their success, though, they remain loyal to their fanbase and still tour incessantly.
