Hanoi Rocks

Although Hanoi Rocks is generally lumped in with any number of forgettable 1980s hair-metal bands, the Finnish group purveyed a smart sound that owed much more to the vintage glam rock of T-Rex and Mott the Hoople than to the spandex-clad rock posturing and air-guitar histrionics of many of their contemporaries. Hanoi Rocks made headlines when their drummer, Razzle, was killed in a 1983 drunk driving accident during which Motley Crue's Vince Neil was behind the wheel. The band continued on after the incident, but never regained their original steam.
