Diana Vickers

Before reaching legal age, Diana Vickers made herself a musical icon in the U.K., thanks to her fourth-place finish in the fifth season of the X-Factor competition. In January 2009, Vickers began working on her debut album, but she laboured over the album for more than a year without any releases to show for it. In April 2010, Vickers finally released her first single, "Once," which debuted on the U.K. singles chart at number one. The album Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree was released less than a month later and debuted at number one as well. As a contributor, Vickers also reached number one alongside her "X-Factor" co-finalists on the Christmas 2008 number one single "Hero."
