Frontman/prankster Jimmy Pop and guitarist Lupus Thunder formed the Bloodhound gang out of the backwoods of Pennsylvania in the mid-'90s, merging Beastie Boys-inspired juvenilia with Weezer-derived power-pop. HOORAY FOR BOOBIES (2000) contained the mega-hit "The Bad Touch," which featured the jocular choral refrain, "You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals/So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel," and an accompanying video of the group and guests donning animal costumes while mimicking sexually suggestive acts. While they never quite reclaimed their iconic frat-house status, the boys returned in 2005 with HEFTY FINE and are still known for an accessible, grassroots relationship with their fans.
